Interior Design – Hotel-Integrated Coworking Space)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Interior Design – Hotel-Integrated Coworking Space
Our upscale hotel is adding a fully scalable coworking space that feels like a natural extension of our hospitality offering. The brand must read first and foremost as a refined hotel amenity, yet still stand confidently on its own when marketed to the public.
What the identity needs to express
– Elegant professional environments worthy of executive meetings
– Plush comfort that mirrors our suites and lounges
– Subtle wellness cues—light, biophilic touches, scent, and acoustic balance—that support productivity without shouting “spa”
Core users will be remote professionals who crave all-day focus with instant access to room service, gym, and concierge perks. Long-stay guests and corporate teams are secondary audiences, so the system should scale without visually fragmenting.
Scope of work
1. Brand strategy: positioning statement, tone of voice, naming options and rationale
2. Visual system: logo suite, colour palette, type hierarchy, iconography, image style
3. Spatial touch-points: wayfinding, desk plaques, lobby signage, key-card sleeves, digital menu templates
4. Guideline book: usage rules, mock-ups for phased expansion, and a material/finish mood board to aid our soft fit-out team
Delivery formats
• Editable vectors (AI/SVG), print-ready PDFs, and web assets (PNG, SVG)
• Brand guideline manual in InDesign/interactive PDF
• Figma file with components for our in-house UI team
Acceptance criteria
✓ Cohesive experience from hotel lobby to cowork zone with no structural change references needed in the graphics
✓ Clear differentiation between membership tiers through colour or icon cues while keeping overall palette refined
✓ All assets tested in both daylight and warm evening lighting to ensure legibility
Timelines can be aligned to our phased roll-out; I’m happy to share floor plans and existing style guides once we connect.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Interior Design & Spatial Planning – Hotel-Integrated Coworking Space
Project Overview
This project delivers a fully scalable coworking environment integrated within an existing hotel property. The design balances professional work requirements with hospitality-led comfort, wellness access, and spatial flexibility. The concept focuses on adaptive reuse, minimal structural intervention, and a soft fit-out strategy that allows phased growth without disrupting hotel operations.
The coworking space is designed to function as both a standalone business unit and a complementary hotel amenity, supporting long-stay guests, remote professionals, local members, and corporate users.
Design Intent
The design philosophy prioritises calm productivity, acoustic comfort, and visual warmth, ensuring the space feels distinct from both traditional offices and casual cafés.
Key objectives:
Create a clear spatial loop that encourages intuitive circulation
Balance open social zones with acoustically protected focus areas
Integrate wellness and lifestyle elements without compromising work efficiency
Maintain a premium yet understated aesthetic suitable for hotel environments
Spatial Strategy
The layout is organised as a continuous loop, allowing users to move seamlessly between zones while maintaining visual connectivity and noise control.
Primary zones include:
Central social workspace and arrival hub
Quiet focus and deep-work areas
Flexible collaboration and meeting spaces
Content creation or multi-purpose studio space
Wellness and movement area
Premium private workspace located on a separate level
This zoning allows for clear behavioural cues without the need for heavy signage or physical barriers.
Scalability & Flexibility
The project is designed to scale in both capacity and function:
Modular furniture systems allow desks, tables, and seating to be reconfigured
Equipment and fittings can be upgraded or expanded without structural change
Zones can be converted between hot-desk, dedicated desk, or event use
Membership tiers and access levels can be adjusted as demand evolves
The approach supports phased rollout, pilot operation, and future replication across additional hotel locations.
Furnishings, Equipment & Fittings (FF&E)
All FF&E selections prioritise durability, comfort, and ease of replacement.
Furniture
Modular work desks and communal tables
Ergonomic task seating and lounge seating
Private acoustic pods and meeting furniture
Soft furnishings for visual warmth and sound absorption
Equipment
High-speed network infrastructure
Task and ambient lighting systems
Content creation and presentation equipment
Wellness and light fitness equipment
Fittings & Finishes
Acoustic wall and ceiling treatments
Durable flooring with soft zoning overlays
Integrated power and data access
Warm, low-glare lighting throughout
Selections are brand-agnostic to allow regional sourcing and cost control.
Hotel Integration
The coworking space is designed to coexist seamlessly with hotel operations:
Shared access to select hotel amenities where appropriate
Clear separation between guest circulation and coworking zones
Noise and privacy considerations aligned with hospitality standards
Opportunities for cross-use by hotel guests, members, and events
This integration enhances guest experience while generating independent revenue.
Operational Considerations
The design supports efficient day-to-day operation through:
Clear sightlines for light-touch supervision
Defined zones to manage noise and behaviour naturally
Easy cleaning, maintenance, and equipment replacement
Infrastructure ready for access control and booking systems
Outcome
The result is a refined, adaptable coworking environment that elevates the hotel offering while operating as a scalable, standalone workspace solution. The design supports long-term growth, multi-use programming, and replication across future sites without reliance on fixed branding or structural change.
