Front door steps
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Looking for design for replacement front door steps
Part of a wider project to replace drive (block paving) but steps need careful thought as drive slopes away from elevated front door
In attached photo drop to drive is 73 cm
Current thinking is
- retain wrought iron handrails , moving one on side wall to edge (moves out a further 34 cm
- retain curves but with straighter steps for section within the handrails (step kit?)
- lose the curved section beyond handrail and replace with (curved) retaining wall from top platform around curved wrought iron with retaining wall at side of steps
- issue needs solving where steps meet front of house wall (either needs to join wall at angle for straight step, or curve, or leave a small gap)
- open to materials but like york stone , would also consider block paving to match drive
Also attached is a very rough drawing
