About the Role
We’re looking for experienced freelance building estimators to prepare detailed estimates and take-offs for residential projects (extensions, loft conversions, full refurbishments, etc.). All estimates are produced in Price-a-Job, so confidence with this platform—or the ability to pick it up quickly—is essential. This is an ongoing position with a steady flow of work; you’ll be paid individually for each completed job.
Responsibilities
Review architectural plans, elevations, and specifications
Create comprehensive material and labour take-offs in Price-a-Job
Apply current UK building regs and trade rates to ensure accuracy
Identify any discrepancies or missing information and flag to the team
Deliver clear, well-formatted reports within agreed turnarounds (typically 5–10 working days)
Requirements
Proven experience in residential estimating and take-offs
Proficiency with Price-a-Job (or similar estimating software with a willingness to transition)
Strong grasp of UK construction methods, materials, and regulations
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Reliable internet connection and Microsoft Office (or equivalent)
