Energy Simulation for Schools projects with different used materials and providing alternatives
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I'm seeking a knowledgeable freelancer to conduct a building energy simulation ( different alternatives of material selection of glazing types - ceiling types - floors types that are commonly used for schools) window-to-wall ratio will be another variable. Propose the common material alternative and know how to utilize the variables in the energy simulation system to provide the output of different alternatives.
At the beginning the struture system - HVAC will be fixed (this may vary depending on the outcomes). The environment which the project will be studied is hot/ humid environment (Coastal city) 80% of the time the Air conditioning will be needed.
Excel file which includes all the presentable simulation outputs (to manipulate and work in calculation further on) is necessary.
any further information needed will be discussed on the go.
**Requirements:**
- **Expertise in Building Energy Simulation:** The freelancer should have robust experience in performing energy simulations, particularly for educational facilities. Knowledge of tools like EnergyPlus, eQUEST, or similar is essential.
- **Life-Cycle-Costing LCC & Life-Cycle-Assessment LCA:**Good background on LCC & LCA to implement on the project.
- **Carbon Footprint Calculation Skills & monetary conversion:** Proficiency in analyzing energy consumption data and converting it into carbon footprint metrics. The freelancer should be able to provide carbon footprint equal costs.
- **Focus on Schools:** Experience with schools or similar educational institutions is necessary.
- **AutoCad / Revit experience:** Able to transform the altenatives into informative 3D model for presentation.
**Ideal Expertise and Experience:**
- A solid background in mechanical or environmental engineering, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Previous projects involving energy simulations for buildings, especially schools, demonstrating a capability to handle complex requirements related to HVAC, lighting, and other significant energy consumers.
- A good understanding of guidelines and standards for sustainable buildings, with the ability to recommend solutions for carbon footprint reduction.
- Proficient in data analysis and report generation, capable of presenting findings in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
This project provides an opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of educational institutions by identifying key areas for improvement in their carbon footprint. Your expertise can help make schools more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.
