Door Design with Glass Block Layout
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a drawing for a single exterior door, incorporating glass blocks to replace an imagined second door. The design should include a diamond pattern for the glass blocks. Door is a retro fit and very odd size to get a standard French door.
I need to know where I need to add the stud so the door can properly be framed in and then how many blocks past the frame I need to fill the rest of the opening. I'm not tied to any certain size block just make sure they are readily available at Lowes or Home Depot.
Key requirements:
- The door needs to be designed to fit a standard exterior door, which is 36 inches wide by 80 inches tall.
- The drawing should specify how many glass blocks are needed and where to start the framing on the side of the glass door.
Rough in is currently 71.5 width 80.5 height. I know I am a little short on the height, but I have a concrete lip I can chip out to get me the height.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proficiency in architectural design software.
- Previous experience with door and glass block designs.
- Strong understanding of standard door dimensions and framing techniques.
