Design an irregular garage

Design an Irregular Garage. I am looking for performing calculations including vertical forces and lateral forces. Specifying hold downs and Simpson products to resolve the forces between beams, columns, joists. The client would like to use t-111 siding so I am not sure if we would need portal frames to avoid shear walls. Need to have a good understanding of US codes, building products. Doug Fir and parallam Beams are preferred.
