Design and dimensioning of an excavation in a steep slope

The project area is located on Rinaustrasse in the north-eastern industrial area of ​​Kaiseraugst. The building with dimensions of 18 x 61 m is to be erected entirely in the approx. 20 m high and approx. 32° steep embankment between Rinaustrasse (bottom of embankment) and Kantonsstrasse (top of embankment). For the new building, slope cuts of approx. 18 m in the western section and approx. 15.5 m in the eastern section of the new building are being made. The finished building should only be backfilled up to a height of approx. 6.5 m above the level of the ground floor. A permanent excavation pit safety system is therefore to be planned for the upper area. Different variants for the temporary and permanent protection of the embankment are to be examined. The foundations for this are the subsoil investigations that have been carried out.
