Construction Plans Evaluation for Residential Building

Job ID: 38578838

Budget: €8 – €750 EUR

I am currently working on a deck project and would like to request your assistance in reviewing the structural calculations for the beam, joist, and post sizes, as well as the spacing for the entire system. I would appreciate it if you could provide me with a quote for this service.

Here is a summary of the project and the relevant information:

Project Overview:
The deck design includes a glass balustrade system weighing approximately 1 ton.
All structural elements (posts, beams, ledger board, and joists) are made from GL24 glulam beams.
The deck surface will be covered with 25 mm Ipe decking.
Key Structural Details:
Posts: 16 cm x 16 cm, supporting the main beam.
Main Beam: 16 cm x 32 cm, sitting on the posts. The beam spans 4.4 meters between two posts on one side and 5.1 meters between two posts on the other. There is a 2-meter cantilevered section extending beyond the posts on the right-hand side plus a 1-meter cantilevered section extending beyond the posts on the left-hand side.
Joists: 14 cm x 8 cm joists, spaced 300 mm apart. There are 46 joists in total, including 4 double joists (one on either end and one under each section of picture framing divider on the deck). The joists are blocked at each end and every 1.5 meters (4 rows in total). The double joists will have blocking every 300 mm.
Ledger Board: A 16 cm x 8 cm ledger board is attached to the house and supports the joists via metal joist hangers. It is secured with M12 stainless steel threaded rods set in chemical anchors with perforated sleeves, spaced approximately every 300 mm.
Cantilevered Joists: The joists span 3.5 meters from the ledger board to the main beam, with an additional 1-meter cantilever extending past the beam.
Request:
I would like you to review and verify the calculations for the beam and joist sizes, post spacing, joist spacing, and the structural integrity of the cantilevered section.
Please assess the design for both bending stress and deflection limits, ensuring that it meets structural standards for safety and performance.
I have attached the design plans for your review. Please let me know if any additional information is required.

I would appreciate it if you could provide a quote for this review and an estimated timeline for completing the assessment.

Thank you in advance for your assistance, and I look forward to hearing from you.
