Castle Carrie

This is my concept, and a starting point. My dimensions can be changed where expert advice and prudence dictates. Envision an old Castle made of cordwood with some stone details. A simple design of a rectangle or square footprint with a cylinder at each corner, with ¼ of the cylinder enclosed in the square. The cylinders are 26’ wide, and the walls connecting the cylinders are 26’ long. Main entry door is 16’-22’ tall 10’ wide. Minimal interior walls, 10-12’ ceilings, possible open area in the center to the roof, all interior supports are concrete arches and columns, roof is flat concrete, and designed to be enjoyed, 2 levels high in the central area with the four cylinders rising one more level as towers. I will be a working project manager on this my home, and I build the forms for the arches. I may build or buy the column forms. The setting for this is 30 acres of pasture and or forest, in SW Michigan USA. Footprint is 3500+/- Sq Ft. I may leave the entire central area open and connect the towers with an elevated walkway along the side walls. Envision large mote as a reflection pond, and low ramparts if any. I need renderings based on sketches I provide. I need something I can take to an architect, and then an engineer, so that I can obtain permits, and complete my costs estimates. I would love to build or inspire an entire community based on this concept, however if I run out of gas on the first one, I will just live & enjoy it with my children & grandchildren, and maybe they will develop the community. This home will last a few hundred years, be a fun build, and great place to enjoy. To me, my home, that I deign and build is like a sculpture, but I am a diamond in the rough, help me make this a great build and become part of its history.
