Deer Parlor is to be my second film as a writer-director. 2015's Charlie and Wendy (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2826636) being my first. The film could be shot under 500K and would have major appeal as a gritty thriller and tragic romance. Think Fargo meets Winter's Bone.
Jim Marshall is a murderous criminal spiraling out of control. Being ripped-off by two of his associates for a million dollars puts him in the hot seat with his boss and sets off a chain of events that harms everyone around him. He tracks one of the men to a small town where he meets a waitress with a violent ex who becomes a problem for both of them. As the two tense situations in Jim's life merge, violence erupts in unexpected ways making Jim more desperate by the minute.
