BuddyPress Expert for Events Email and Current to Past Event Automation

I run a BuddyPress-driven community on WordPress and need three very specific improvements to the way events and emails behave.

1. Whenever a new event is published every registered member must automatically receive an email notification.
2. If a member cancels their RSVP, that single member should immediately get a confirmation email.
3. Once the event’s end date/time passes, it should automatically move from “Upcoming” to “Past” so the archive stays clean.

Current stack
• BuddyPress for the social layer
• The Events Calendar + Event Tickets for event handling
• SchedulePress for general scheduling
• A small amount of custom code already in place
• Outgoing mail goes through my host’s own SMTP server (no third-party gateway is connected yet)

What I need from you
• Configure or extend the existing plugins—or add lightweight custom code—so the three behaviours above work reliably.
• Make sure emails respect the site’s existing branding templates.
• Use proper hooks (actions/filters) so nothing breaks on future plugin updates.
• Provide a brief note on where any custom code lives so I can keep it under version control.

Acceptance
I’ll test by creating a dummy event, RSVPing and cancelling, then watching how the status flips after the event time passes. All emails must arrive in my inbox and a test member’s inbox with no errors in the WordPress mail log.

Timeframe: 1-2 days.
