Middle School Learning App Development -- 2
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
My name is Ross Nadal, and I’m a teacher at Floyd Light Middle School in East Portland, OR. I want to build a web app using Bubble.io to help students improve their writing, critical thinking, and collaboration skills through simple, game-like activities. The app would address gaps in our students’ critical thinking and writing skills, which are key factors in low academic performance and engagement.
Students would join sessions with a one-time game code and move through simple rounds where they type information to match a teacher provided prompt, review anonymized peer work, assign points, and see winners displayed. Students would then see all students writing to copy and paste, or download, for further academic tasks. Teachers would manage sessions through an account-based dashboard, while students would not need accounts, ensuring privacy and compliance.
The MVP is designed for ~20 teachers and ~2,000 students, which would be the teachers who work at the three middle schools in David Douglas School District who have already expressed a desire for this app, with room to grow. The app would offer a simple subscription model for teachers to support costs. I’d like to discuss if this is realistic for me to build mostly independently with developer guidance, or if I would need to save money and have it built largely by a developer.
