Help with Bubble app

I have a popup that lists some data. On click I want the data to be inserted into a multiline text box on the same page. This is working to the extent that is overwrites the text box. I want to leave the text box intact and insert the new content at the cursor position wrapped in square brackets []. See the attached image.
