Retail Brand Design: Backyard Bouquets
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
Backyard Bouquets
Retail Brand Identity & In-Store Collateral Design
Project Overview
We are a Canadian wholesale nursery supplier working with major North American retailers including Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Walmart, and Lowe’s.
We are launching a new retail program:
Brand Name: Backyard Bouquets
Tagline: From garden to flower shop.
This program features curated plant collections designed for customers to grow, cut, and bring indoors as fresh bouquets.
We are looking for a designer to create a complete retail-ready brand identity and visual system, not just a logo. Must understand and read English very well.
Scope of Work
We are looking for a cohesive design system applied across multiple real-world retail touchpoints.
1. Logo and Brand Identity
Backyard Bouquets
Clean, scalable, retail-ready
Must work across signage, packaging, and tags
Include TM in design.
2. Retail Banner
Size: 48” W x 6” H
Must be readable from 10 to 20 feet
Must include:
Brand name
Strapline: From garden to flower shop.
This is the most important asset
3. In-Store Sign
Size: 11” x 14”
Used at shelf level to explain the program
Should reinforce the concept, ease of use, and inspiration
4. Poster / POP Vinyl Banner
Size: 36” W x 48” H
Designed for high-impact visibility in garden centres
Should feel bold, inspirational, and retail-ready
Brand Application Requirement
5. Apply Branding to Retailer System
As per Illustration provided.
See Perfect Rose Example for reference
Designed for high-impact visibility in garden centres
Should feel bold, inspirational, and retail-ready
Brand Application Requirement
We are not looking for flat designs.
We want to see how the brand comes to life in a retail environment.
Designers must present their work as a visual collage or mockup showing the brand applied to:
Plant pots
Retail packaging
Garden centre aprons
Stringed plant tags
Coffee mugs
Additional retail signage elements
The goal is to demonstrate a cohesive, immersive retail brand system.
Creative Direction
This program must communicate instantly in a busy retail environment.
Core idea: Grow your own bouquets at home
Emotional hook: Your garden becomes your flower shop
Design Goals
Immediate clarity at a distance
Strong retail visibility
Clean, modern aesthetic
Floral, fresh, and uplifting
Slightly feminine but broadly appealing
Scalable across future programs
What We Do Not Want
Overly busy or cluttered designs
Soft or overly craft-style aesthetics
Weak typography or poor readability
Concepts that do not translate to retail environments
Reference Direction
We will provide examples of collage-style presentations and inspiration to shortlisted candidates.
Deliverables
Logo files in AI, EPS, PNG, JPG
Banner design print-ready
Signage files
Collage mockups
Font and colour specifications
Opportunity
This is part of a larger branded program rollout.
Strong work may lead to additional program branding, ongoing design work, and long-term collaboration.
