Modern Salsa Logo Rebrand

Job ID: 40019735

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

I’m refreshing the visual identity of my Sydney-based salsa school, social party and events brand, and the first piece I need is a striking new logo. The look I’m after is modern and minimalistic—clean lines, balanced negative space, confident typography—with the bold, bright energy people associate with salsa.

The brand personality is inclusive, friendly, and sociable. I want the logo to feel welcoming and approachable, not elitist or intimidating – more “come dance with us” than “formal dance academy”.

You can see the current colours and vibe at salsasocial.com.au. The palette currently uses bright blue and green with occasional gold and red. I’m happy for you to refine or modernise this palette, but the logo must still work on a black T-shirt and in a single colour for merch/embroidery.

The new wording is “Sydney Salsa Dance”, with SALSA as the hero word visually.

Visual cues I’d like explored:
A subtle Sydney landmark – stylised Opera House roofline or Harbour Bridge (this is important for local identity).
Optionally, a stylised outline of a dancing couple and/or DJ-style equaliser bars to hint at music and movement.
These should be abstract and simplified, supporting the typography rather than crowding it. The overall feel should stay minimal, not illustrative.
Audience: primarily young adults and professionals in Sydney who want fun, social, inclusive salsa nights rather than a hardcore performance school.

Deliverables:
Primary logo in full colour, reversed, and single-colour versions
Vector files (.AI, .EPS, .SVG) plus web-ready PNGs with transparent backgrounds
A concise style sheet with colour codes and fonts used

I’ll review concepts based on:
Clarity and legibility at small sizes
How well the Sydney reference blends with the dance/music motif
How well the logo expresses an inclusive, friendly, sociable vibe
Overall vibrancy and modernity of the palette
How well it will work across social media, print, and merch

Two rounds of refinement after the first concept should be plenty to finalise the mark.
If you need more detail on brand personality, audience, or specific applications, I’m happy to clarify before you start sketching.
