BON + ME — Brand Identity Design Brief

BON + ME is about survival, humour, and imperfection.
It’s inspired by the bond between Kate and her noseless, three-legged rescue dog, Bonnie.

Bon’s scars are on the outside. Kate’s are on the inside.
Both are broken, resilient, and remade stronger — proof that trauma leaves marks, but it also leaves character.

This brand is for people who’ve been through something and don’t hide it.
It’s not about pity or pain — it’s about strength, self-awareness, and a sense of humour dark enough to survive anything.

We are the Survivors Club — flawed, funny, and still here.

Deliverables

We need two marks that live as one system:

1️⃣ Wordmark

Text: bon + me (lowercase preferred, but open to exploration)
Tone: minimal, raw, imperfectly balanced
Style: stripped-back typography with subtle texture or asymmetry — something human, not clean or commercial
It should feel designed, not decorative
Must hold up in black, white, and neutral tones. But also quite like the idea of a little neon red/orange/pink

2️⃣ Symbol / Icon

A scar mark that can stand alone — used on every garment (sleeve, label, tag)
Interpret it your way: a stitched line, uneven cross, healed crack, thread mark
Must be simple, instantly recognisable, and tactile — like a mark made by hand
Think Nike tick meets Margiela stitches — minimal, raw, emotional
Works in single colour and an optional muted red or skin tone version (thread tone)

Design Tone

Keyword Description
Wabi-sabi Beauty in imperfection and wear
Raw Honest, unfiltered, real
Human Slightly uneven, never sterile
Edgy Quiet rebellion; not trendy
Understated Says everything by saying little

Style Cues

Asymmetric colour blocking and irregular details in future garments

Exposed stitching, visible construction

Matte, natural materials — no gloss, no plastic feel

Avoid anything cute, commercial, or overly graphic — this brand isn’t just merch; it’s meaning

Creative Freedom

The wordmark and scar icon should share the same world — but they don’t have to be neat or matching.
Play with line weight, space, tension, imbalance.
We want something that feels found, not manufactured.

Imperfection, tension, and restraint are welcome.

Files Needed

Vector files (.AI / .SVG)

Transparent PNGs

Black/white versions and one red-accent variant

Icon isolated for garment embroidery and stamping

In Short

This isn’t fashion-as-fluff.
It’s design that carries a story.
Nothing cute. Nothing glossy. Nothing cringey.
It should feel like it’s been through something — and came out with taste.
