Iconic Alumni Association Logo & Corporate Identity
Budget: €100 – €200 EUR
Design Brief – New Alumni Association Logo & Corporate Identity
1. Project Overview
An alumni association is commissioning a new logo and corporate identity to establish a modern, distinct visual presence. The new design must be professional, widely adaptable, and clearly separate from the branding of the institution it is associated with, while still retaining a link through a shared symbolic element.
2. Background
The alumni organisation currently uses the same logo as the institution, creating brand confusion. Best practice is for alumni bodies to develop their own identity while retaining a recognisable connection.
The Crossed Keys motif is the shared symbol and must remain central to the new logo.
3. Design Objectives
The new logo should:
Establish a stand-alone identity for the alumni association
Incorporate the Crossed Keys in a clean, modern style
Convey heritage, community, continuity, and professionalism
Function at all sizes and across all formats (web, app, merchandise, documents, event materials)
Include both the full organisation name and a shorter variant (e.g., “PPU”)
4. Mandatory Elements
Crossed Keys symbol as the core visual component
Text lockup including full name and short form
Flexible compositions such as circular badge, shield, or horizontal layout
Colour, black-only, and reversed white variants
6. Deliverables
Primary logo (full name + keys)
Secondary logo (abbreviation + keys)
Icon-only version
Colour, black, and white variants
Vector files (.AI, .EPS, .SVG) and web assets (.PNG, .JPG)
A concise brand guide covering colours, typography, clear space, and minimum sizes
7. Style & Tone
The identity should feel modern, clean, and respectful of heritage. It should be professional, timeless, and suitable for a broad generational audience. Overly ornate, complex, or heavily institutional designs should be avoided.
