Cosmetic Branding Language Specialist
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We are seeking a gifted Cosmetic Branding Language Specialist to be the guardian of our brand's voice across all touchpoints. This is not a traditional translation or copywriting role; it is a strategic position focused on the alchemy of words, emotion, and brand identity. You will be responsible for developing the linguistic DNA of our brand—from product names and storytelling to marketing campaigns and digital content—ensuring every word resonates with our target audience and builds a cohesive, desirable brand world.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Voice Development: Define, document, and evolve the brand's core voice, tone, and personality. Create and maintain comprehensive brand voice guidelines and lexicons.
Strategic Naming: Lead the creative process for naming new products, collections, shades, and campaigns. Names must be evocative, on-brand, legally viable, and culturally sensitive.
Storytelling & Concepting: Develop the core narrative and marketing concepts for product launches. Translate product features (e.g., ingredient benefits, texture, finish) into compelling consumer-facing stories that spark desire and engagement.
Copy Creation & Oversight: Write and/or oversee the creation of all brand copy, including:
Product descriptions and packaging copy
Marketing campaign taglines and headlines
Website and e-commerce content
Social media content concepts and captions
Email marketing campaigns
Transcreation & Localization: For global campaigns, work closely with localization teams to adapt messaging for different markets, ensuring the brand's essence, allure, and marketing punch are preserved across cultures and languages.
Market & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of beauty industry trends, consumer slang, and competitor messaging to ensure our brand language remains fresh, relevant, and distinctive.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
A Way with Words: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in [Language, e.g., English]. A portfolio that demonstrates creativity, versatility, and a strong understanding of brand voice is essential.
Beauty Industry Passion: Deep knowledge of and passion for the cosmetics, skincare, or beauty industry. You understand the difference between a "dewy finish" and a "glazed donut glow."
Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically about how language shapes brand perception, drives consumer behavior, and supports business objectives.
Creative Brilliance: A natural creative thinker with a proven ability to generate innovative ideas for names, campaigns, and storytelling concepts.
Meticulous Attention to Detail: An eagle eye for grammar, consistency, and nuance.
Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with graphic designers, marketers, product developers, and senior leadership.
