Brand Identity Design Contest
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Overview
We are launching a new premium pet lifestyle brand and are seeking an experienced brand identity designer to create a timeless visual identity from the ground up.
This is not simply a logo project.
We are building a brand centered around trust, hospitality, exceptional craftsmanship, and bespoke products that celebrate the unique relationship between pets and the people who love them.
The winning designer will create the visual foundation for a company that will ultimately span premium hospitality services, personalized products, retail, subscriptions, and e-commerce.
The company name will be shared with the winning designer after the contest is awarded.
⸻
About the Brand
Our brand exists at the intersection of luxury hospitality and bespoke craftsmanship.
We believe every pet is unique, and every product or experience should reflect that individuality.
Whether we are caring for a guest during boarding or creating a custom embroidered keepsake, our goal is the same: to honor the bond between pets and the people who love them.
This is not a traditional pet store.
Think boutique hotel—not pet store.
Think luxury gift atelier—not souvenir shop.
Our ambition is to build one of the most trusted premium pet lifestyle brands in the industry.
⸻
The Experience We Want to Create
When customers encounter our brand, they should feel:
* These people genuinely care.
* I completely trust leaving my pet here.
* Everything feels thoughtful and intentional.
* This feels elevated without being intimidating.
* This was created specifically for my pet.
* This is a brand I’ll still recognize and trust ten years from now.
The emotional response is more important than creating an eye-catching logo.
⸻
Design Direction
We’re looking for a visual identity that communicates quiet confidence through restraint.
More like
* Ritz-Carlton
* Four Seasons
* Ralph Lauren Home
* Aesop
* Shinola
* Heritage publishing
* Boutique hospitality
Less like
* Traditional pet stores
* Veterinary clinics
* Cartoon pets
* Farmhouse décor
* Rustic branding
* Trendy startup aesthetics
* Generic luxury branding
* Overly playful or whimsical design
The goal is timeless, understated, and memorable.
⸻
The Design Challenge
We are looking for a complete brand identity system beginning with a logo family.
Logo System
The identity should include:
* Primary combination mark
* Horizontal logo
* Stacked logo
* Standalone wordmark
* Standalone brand symbol
* Social media icon
* Favicon
* Optional monogram
Typography should feel elegant, timeless, and highly legible across print and digital applications.
Preference is given to commercially available fonts that work well across Adobe, Shopify, Canva, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
⸻
The Brand Symbol (Highest Priority)
The symbol is the single most important deliverable.
We’re looking for an iconic mark that can eventually become recognizable without the company name.
The symbol should communicate ideas such as:
* companionship
* trust
* hospitality
* warmth
* calm
* connection
* thoughtful care
We are particularly interested in elegant, minimal line-art approaches.
The icon should reproduce beautifully at very small sizes for:
* embroidery
* leather patches
* engraved products
* wax seals
* cookie embossers
* packaging
* apparel
* social media
* website favicons
Please avoid generic pet branding.
We are not looking for:
* Paw prints
* Bones
* Dog houses
* Cartoon animals
* Clip art
* Generic hearts
* Overly literal pet imagery
If incorporating botanical elements or hearts, they should feel intentional, refined, and integrated into the design rather than decorative.
⸻
Color Palette
A color direction has already been established and should be incorporated into the identity.
Core palette includes:
* Warm Cream
* Navy
* Slate Blue
* Muted Eucalyptus
* Burnt Rose
The designer may refine these colors but should maintain the overall direction.

* One refined design direction
We are looking for designers who think strategically, not just stylistically.
