Process
Time Management-Planning your working time is critical to the successful completion of
any job, and you have many other jobs to complete (not to mention eating and sleeping).
Read through the process and deliverables and create a Workback Schedule for this project.
Research > Exploration of the grid and structural systems for multipage documents will be a
major component of this project. Spend some time researching contemporary brand book
design. How is space used? How does the design guide the viewer from front through to
back cover? How is consistency of design created? What are different options for
"sectioning" a book?
Concept > You have developed a concept for a body of work promoting an exhibit for an
artist/designer – the branding book should look and feel as a logical extension of your work
produced in Project 1 and 2. If you were to theme the process book and your working
methodology, how might you articulate that through words, images,& layout
Design-First, look at your collection of content. How can you divide this information into
sections for easier reference? How will you guide your reader through the design work. What
is a logical, imaginative, and effective manner to present this branding?
Suggested sections: Stationery, Print Promotion, Social Media Promotion, Mobile Promotion
Onsite Promotion, Merchandising Promotion
On a more micro perspective, how will your grid system be determined? What grid will best
fit your format? Be sure to create a strong "flow line" throughout the book to create order and
maintain a professional look.
Format > page size 14" x 11", facing pages, full color, for print
