Logo Design Brief: Meet Me in the Park

Brand Overview

Meet Me in the Park is more than just an apparel brand—it’s a movement centered around fostering in-person connection, community, and appreciation for shared public spaces. In an era where digital interactions often replace face-to-face moments, our brand encourages people to step outside, gather, and embrace the beauty of the parks that bring us together.

Inspired by the simple joy of meeting up with friends, family, and even strangers in parks, Meet Me in the Park embodies the nostalgia of unplanned hangouts, the spontaneity of outdoor adventures, and the inclusivity of public spaces where everyone is welcome.

Our first collection features hats and tote bags, designed to be conversation starters—subtle invitations to connect. Whether worn by locals who frequent their neighborhood park or travelers exploring new green spaces, our products serve as a reminder of the power of shared spaces and real-world interaction.

We intend to contribute a portion of future revenue to activities that support park preservation, ensuring that these communal spaces continue to thrive for generations to come.

Meet Me in the Park is a call to action. It’s about stepping away from screens, embracing the outdoors, and meeting where life happens—in the park.

Brand Personality & Tone

The Meet Me in the Park brand is:

✅ Approachable – Welcoming and inclusive, encouraging people from all walks of life to gather in shared spaces.

✅ Nostalgic & Classic – Inspired by the organic, unstructured way people have always gathered in parks, with a vintage touch that feels familiar and enduring.

✅ Effortless & Conversational – Casual and unpretentious, designed to be woven into everyday life.

✅ Community-Driven – Not just a brand, but a movement that fosters connection.

✅ Playful & Inviting – Lighthearted and uplifting, never too serious or rigid.

The logo should reflect this identity—simple, recognizable, and designed to spark a sense of community and spontaneity. While we are drawn to a vintage and classic aesthetic, we are open to other interpretations as long as they align with the brand ethos.

Design Requirements

General Style & Tone

We are looking for a clean yet distinctive logo that captures the essence of community, connection, and outdoor spaces.

• Simple, but unique: The design should be easy to recognize and reproduce.

• Can lean toward a vintage/classic aesthetic but should still feel fresh and adaptable.

• Must not resemble the “New York or Nowhere” brand logo or similar existing designs.

• Scalable & Versatile: Should work across digital platforms, print, and embroidered merchandise.

• Avoid ultra-minimalism and overly complex logos.

Logo Usage & Variations

The logo will be used in multiple ways, so flexibility is key:

1. Primary Logo:

• Used for core brand elements: website, social media, packaging, and print materials.

• Should include the full brand name: Meet Me in the Park

• The logo should be no larger than 3 inches to ensure it fits well on embroidered hats and other apparel.

2. Localized Variations:

• Adaptable for specific parks (e.g., “Meet Me in PROSPECT Park”).

• The park name should be in a different style and larger than the rest of the text for emphasis.

• Additional park name examples for reference:

• Meet Me in TOMPKINS SQUARE Park

• Meet Me in McCARREN Park

• Meet Me in GRIFFITH Park

• Meet Me in GOLDEN GATE Park

3. Optional Icon or Symbol:

• An icon or symbol is not required, but if used, it should feel organic and make sense in relation to the brand story.

• Should tie into outdoor or nature-inspired elements (e.g., trees, pathways, sun, benches, landscapes) in a subtle and natural way.

• Should work as a standalone symbol (for side placement on hats), with an optimal embroidery size of 0.5 to 1 inch.

Typography

• Typography style, capitalization, and formatting are up to the designer’s choice.

• The font must be legally licensed for commercial use (or a unique stylized version created for the brand).

• While we are drawn to vintage-inspired typography, we welcome creative interpretations that align with the brand personality.

• The typography for the park name in localized versions should be visually distinct from the rest of the logo.

Color & Printing Considerations

• Single-color logo: The design must work well in a monochrome format.

• Negative space is important—the design should create contrast and maintain clarity without relying on multiple colors.

• Avoid gradients and excessive shading, as embroidery works best with solid shapes and clean lines.

• Provide one example with an inverted color version suitable for dark backgrounds.

Deliverables

Final files should be provided in multiple formats for flexibility:

✔ Vector formats (AI, EPS, SVG) for scalability

✔ High-resolution PNG & JPEG

✔ Black and white versions for versatile applications

✔ An inverted color version for dark backgrounds

Opportunity for Additional Work

The designer selected for the winning logo will also have the opportunity to work on additional brand visual guidelines, including typography, color palettes, and design applications across marketing materials and product packaging.

We have included reference images that reflect some initial creative direction (although we want the logo quite a bit smaller on the hat than is depicted here), but we are open to unique and fresh interpretations. Designers are encouraged to bring their own creative perspective while ensuring the logo aligns with the brand ethos.
