I am a professional woman, an Iranian- Australian citizen. I have an amazing story of survival. I maneged to free myself and my son from an abusive relationship in Iran and fight all the cultural and family barriers on my way to build a secure and fear-free life for us. I overcame an unjust system against women, got full custody of my child, and then managed to leave for Canada and then head to Australia to establish our life here. As my memories distance from me by the wear and tear of time, I can see why no one, even my family believed me when I was telling them what was happening in my marriage: things that happened to me look so surreal to myself now! I cannot believe such traumatic incidents happened and my son and I still survived. We not only survived, but built a happy healthy life in Australia.
