Web Novel Writer Needed for Potential Manhwa Adaptation
Overview:
I'm seeking a dedicated web novel writer to craft a narrative suitable for a potential manhwa adaptation. The narrative will focus on the Action, System+Cultivation, and Weak to Strong genres.
Key Requirements:
Cultural Authenticity: While everyone is encouraged to apply, there's a preference for Korean authors. This is to ensure the story incorporates authentic Korean nuances, cultural elements, and setting. However, the selection will be skill-based, focusing on the ability to capture the essence of the genre and the cultural setting.
Narrative Skills: The writer must have the prowess to weave an engaging tale teeming with vibrant characters set against an exhilarating backdrop.
Collaborative Spirit: An openness to feedback, suggestions, and revisions is essential. The project is collaborative, and I aim to work closely with the chosen writer to bring the vision to life.
Project Duration & Scope:
The story is projected to span over 20 chapters.
One chapter is anticipated to be submitted monthly, subject to revisions based on feedback.
Compensation and Terms:
Payment: CAD 35 per submitted and approved chapter. This considers a standard chapter length, with any significant deviations open to renegotiation. (if you are in Korea exact won will be paid)
Royalties: In recognition of the writer's stake in the project's success, a royalty of 2% of the profits generated by the novel will be granted for the first year post its release. This applies only if the novel becomes profitable.
Ownership & Rights: All content will be recognized as a "work made for hire". I will retain exclusive rights, including reproduction, distribution, adaptation, modifications, and any derivative works.
Authorial Credit: Despite transferring rights, the writer will be acknowledged as the author wherever the work is promoted.
Project Continuation: While I am committed to this project, its continuation is contingent upon meeting set quality and popularity benchmarks. Clear criteria for continuation will be communicated, and in the event of consistent underperformance, the project may be terminated.
Jurisdiction: This agreement is governed by Canada, and any disputes will be resolved according to the selected jurisdiction's regulations.
Interested writers should have relevant experience in web novels, particularly in the genres mentioned. A portfolio or samples of past works will be beneficial during the selection process.
