I am reaching out to inquire if you would be interested in editing my nonfiction manuscript, Two Bandra Girls. The book tells the vibrant and challenging story of Arti, a former advertising professional (that’s me), and Suzann, a corporate lawyer, who take on an ambitious and unexpected mission: creating an organic farm while continuing to live and work in Mumbai.
In March 2021, we purchased 10 acres of untouched farmland in Raigad District, about 130 kilometers from the city, and launched our venture, aptly named Two Bandra Girls. While staying rooted in our urban lives, we’ve spent the past three years commuting weekly to our farm, navigating the steep learning curve of farming by day and the high-paced demands of city life by night.
The manuscript captures our journey with humor, candor, and insight, blending the comedic misadventures and practical lessons of Clarkson’s Farm with the everyday relatability of Panchayat. It offers urban readers a fresh and engaging perspective on the realities of agricultural life and the legal and logistical challenges of buying farmland in India.
