The Sterilized Tree

I am writing a biography about my life and the life of those in it over a period of 65 years. The story starts in Bermuda where I was born and depicts the life of a mixed-race boy who never felt like he belonged in a black family. He describes how his father left him at birth and how his mother married an American black man moved them to America where the boy first encountered ill-treatment from blacks and how his life was shaped according to the environment and the loss of his own desires to the life of a person who was just trying to live in a world he felt was not his own. He grows and finds himself in one form of trouble after another, winds up an addict, homeless on the streets of Oakland, California living among the worse and becoming the very thing he deplored. He suffers one failed relationship after another never truly knowing the meaning of love but is himself filled with love and give it to others but cannot recognize it being given to him. He goes to state prison for a term after accidentally killing his girlfriend by backing over her in a truck after telling God to please take her from his life. On release from prison, he is picked up by immigration and held in detention until he is forced to sign orders to have himself removed from the United States forever and has to leave behind everything he has and even his family to be deported back to Bermuda after 48 years away. He then finds love but throws it away again for the life of drugs. He then goes to prison in Bermuda and is released where he secures the best job in life but ruins it after 2 years of alcohol. He then finds a job washing pots and pans in a restaurant and begins writing a plan for a waste management and scrap metal company and then attracts buyers from a company owned by a wealthy relative he never knew. This is his chance for wealth, but it goes nowhere and so he packs and leaves for England where he finally finds himself and lives a quiet life waiting to die.
