I’m seeking an experienced U.S.-based ghostwriter (native English speaker) to help refine and rewrite/revise a my completed draft manuscript for clarity, conciseness, and structural flow.
The book, Thriving Through Empathy in a Chaotic World, explores how empathy, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence can strengthen individual lives, relationships, and democratic values. It’s written for teenage to adult readers who want to understand how empathy can heal divides in families, workplaces, communities, and civic life including application of learned skills to governing at the Federal level and leadership in religious organizations.
Project Scope
Current manuscript: ~49,000 words, 17 chapters (including the content preceding Chapter 1 and following Chapter 17)


Goal: 30,000–40,500 words, reorganized into 10–16 chapters


Major issues to address:


Repetition of empathy fundamentals across chapters


Inconsistent chapter organization and flow


Need for tighter, more engaging humanized prose while maintaining warmth and depth


What I Will Provide
A copy of my fully drafted and ready for rewrite/revision manuscript from the title page through appendices.


A revised proposed content outline


A contractor who is receptive to feedback, responsive to questions, and available for regular communication.
Key Ghostwriter Requirements
Native English speaker, U.S.-based, who demonstrates a politically moderate stance and a values-based approach to religion grounded in integrity, compassion, and humility.


Prior ghostwriting or developmental editing experience in nonfiction (preferably self-help, psychology, or personal growth genres)


Comfortable refining content that integrates empathy, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence to include keeping a substantial degree of the content currently the chapters titled The Crucial Partnership: Empathy, Critical and Emotional Intelligence in Government and When Compassion Sleeps and Reason Fails: The Cost of Uncritical and Unempathic Religious Leadership.


Ability to preserve the author’s intended focus while improving clarity, cohesion, and readability.


Dedicated to maintaining a cooperative, respectful, and responsive working dynamic, including timely communication and mutual problem-solving.


Essential Content to Preserve
Two chapters must retain their core message and integrity:
Chapter 15: The Crucial Partnership — Empathy and Critical Thinking in Government


Chapter 16: When Compassion Sleeps and Reason Fails — The Cost of Uncritical and Unempathetic Religious Leadership


Three self-analysis checklists (on empathy, empathy + critical thinking, and emotional intelligence) are to remain included in the final version.
