I'm seeking a beta reader for my steamy queer thriller/suspense fiction manuscript, which has 90,000 words. Your primary focus should be:
- Character Development: I want an assessment of my characters' growth and relatability throughout the story.
- Plot consistency: It's crucial for you to determine if the plot holds together without any glaring inconsistencies.
- Queer sensitivity: While I have some experience in this area, I am not a gay man and therefore have had to rely on research. A general assessment of sensitivity would be appreciated.
- Time period specific Americanisms: Book is set in New York in the latter half of 1993. Any advice or corrections you can offer regarding the time period, geography, local language, American customs, etc… is welcomed.
Ideal skills for this project include a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of character arcs and plot structures in fiction, and an ability to provide constructive feedback.
