InDesign Typesetter — 1918-Page Bilingual Latin/English Missal Reproduction (Historical Facsimile Style)

Description:
We're reproducing a 1930s-era Catholic missal — a bilingual (Latin/English), two-column liturgical book, 1918 pages — as a new InDesign document that faithfully matches the look of the original printed edition.
What's provided to you:
The InDesign master file and font family (Caslon Iconic Family) already set up, with tested settings (7pt size, 8.2 leading, specific justification/word-spacing tolerances) approved to match the original page's appearance
Text already extracted and provided per page — you will not be transcribing or typing from scans; your job is layout, placement, and styling
Scanned reference images of every original page, so you can match line breaks, column balance, and formatting exactly
What you'll be doing:
Placing supplied text into the InDesign template using the established paragraph/character styles, matching the original page's line breaks and column layout as closely as InDesign's composer allows
Handling special formatting: page headers, section titles, rubric-style headings, drop caps/decorative initials where present
Placing and cleaning up any illustrated plates or decorative images from the scanned source pages (cropping, basic cleanup — not redrawing)
Flagging any pages where the text doesn't fit the established style cleanly, so we can review before finalizing
Required:
Strong Adobe InDesign skills — paragraph/character styles, multi-column layout, master pages
Experience with book/print typesetting, ideally something facsimile, historical, or reference-book in nature
Attention to detail — this is a precision reproduction project, not free-form design
Comfortable working with Latin text (accented characters, ligatures) even without speaking Latin
Process:
We'll start with a paid test batch of 10-15 pages to confirm workflow, pace, and quality before committing to the full book
Ongoing delivery in batches (to be agreed), with review and sign-off at each stage
Please quote your rate per page for standard running-text pages, and separately for pages requiring image placement/cleanup
