Children’s Book Writing Coach Needed

Job ID: 40499890

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

My nine-year-old is determined to publish his very first book for his tenth birthday, and I want the finished story to be entirely his voice—just polished, structured, and ready for print. He envisions a short, engaging story about himself that other school-age children (7-10) will relate to. The core threads he keeps coming back to are:

• Friendship
• Personal growth
• Spiritual growth

You would work directly with us—mostly through video chats or recorded voice notes—to:

1. Develop a simple outline that captures the real events he wants to share while keeping the pacing lively for young readers.
2. Coach him through drafting each chapter, gently refining grammar and vocabulary without losing his tone.
3. Edit the full manuscript into a 1,500–2,500-word, kid-friendly piece ready for illustrations.
4. Provide basic self-publishing guidance (KDP or similar) so we can release it on his birthday. If illustration coordination or interior layout is within your skill set, let me know—that would be a huge plus.

The ideal collaborator has experience ghost-writing or coaching children’s authors, understands age-appropriate language, and can keep the process fun and motivating for a very excited soon-to-be-ten-year-old. Please share a sample of previous children’s stories you’ve shaped and outline how you’d keep my son involved every step of the way.
