Book Designer Needed for 100th Anniversary Commemorative Book
Budget: $350 – $550 AUD
We are looking for an experienced book designer and print layout specialist to complete the design of a commemorative book celebrating 100th anniversary.
All written content, images, content order, and general layout ideas have already been prepared. The main task is to bring everything together into a polished, professional, high-resolution book that is ready for commercial printing.
Scope of Work
The selected freelancer will be responsible for:
Designing and improving the overall book layout
Arranging the supplied content and images according to the provided order
Creating a consistent visual style across the entire book
Improving typography, spacing, page composition, and visual hierarchy
Ensuring all images and design elements are suitable for high-resolution printing
Enhancing and lightly retouching older photographs where required
Improving image brightness, contrast, sharpness, and colour consistency where possible
Maintaining the historical character and authenticity of older photographs
Preparing the final book files according to professional print-production standards
Supplying both print-ready and editable source files
Materials Provided
We will provide:

All photographs and images
The required content order
Existing layout ideas and design direction
Branding or reference materials where applicable
Printing specifications once confirmed
This is not a content-writing project. The content is complete, and the project primarily involves professional design, image preparation, and print layout.

Demonstrated experience designing books, commemorative publications, annual reports, magazines, or historical publications
Strong Adobe InDesign skills
Experience preparing files for commercial printing
Photo retouching and image-enhancement experience
Excellent typography and editorial layout skills
Strong attention to detail
The ability to work respectfully with historical photographs and archival material
Clear communication and the ability to follow an established content structure
