Bible Typesetting & Layout Expert

Job ID: 40220649

Budget: $100 – $350 USD

I have two editions of the King James Version in production—a pocket-sized Bible and a traditional full-size volume. Both require meticulous typesetting, accurate pagination, and consistent styling from Genesis to Revelation so that the printer can go straight to press without additional fixes.

The pocket edition must balance legibility with compact dimensions, while the standard edition should read comfortably at a larger trim size. Section headings, chapter numbers, footnotes, cross-references, and verse numbers all need uniform placement and clear hierarchy. Margins, gutters, and bleeds have to follow book-printing best practices so signatures fold and bind cleanly in the final product, whether the bindery opts for Smyth-sewn or another premium method.

I will supply the raw, proof-read text along with any existing style guides or sample pages. You will handle master page creation, font selection or refinement, line-break control, widow-orphan prevention, and final pre-press checks (ink coverage, resolution, overprint settings, etc.).

Deliverables:
• Two complete, press-ready files—one for the pocket Bible, one for the full-size Bible
• Native layout files with linked assets packaged for archival
• A brief hand-off note outlining fonts, stylesheets, and any printer instructions

Smooth, accurate Bible layout experience is strongly preferred, and an eye for detail is non-negotiable. If you can demonstrate previous religious or complex reference book work, that will help me choose quickly.
