I’m wrapping up a dystopian science-fiction novel and need a front cover that looks as if it has spent decades being passed from reader to reader. Two elements are non-negotiable: a clear, visually compelling piece of Sci-Fi technology and an unmistakably aged treatment that mimics a well-loved paperback with worn edges.

Think muted, slightly sun-bleached inks, paper grain peeking through, rounded corners rubbed bare, and chipped lettering that still keeps the title legible. The technological focal point could be a flickering console, disassembled gadget, or retro-futuristic schematic—whatever best sells the bleak, high-tech atmosphere. If you feel a shadowy city skyline helps the composition, feel free to explore it, but the tech and the vintage wear must dominate.
