Skincare Book Editing & Development

Job ID: 39880198

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

I have a completed manuscript on skin care that now needs professional shaping. I’m looking for a knowledgeable editor who can take the book beyond simple proofreading or copy-editing and provide overall development guidance.

The focus is on enhancing the book’s structure—re-thinking chapter order, improving flow, and tightening section headings—so the information reads logically from start to finish. I also want fresh ideas for the general layout, including suggestions for the cover concept and internal design elements (call-out boxes, diagrams, or other visuals that make technical skin-care advice easy to digest).

To keep us aligned, here are the key deliverables:
• Developmental edit with margin comments explaining structural changes
• Re-organized chapter outline showing before/after placement
• Revised headings and sub-headings for clearer navigation
• A brief design memo (1–2 pages) outlining proposed cover direction and interior styling cues

Dermatology or beauty-industry familiarity is a plus, but strong narrative-nonfiction skills are essential. Please share a sample of similar book development work and note your preferred editing tools (Word Track Changes, Google Docs, etc.). I’m ready to start as soon as we agree on milestones and timing.
