Skilled Editor for Non-Fiction Book (Handwritten Drafts to Polished Manuscript)b vc
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a skilled editor for my non-fiction book, which blends conversational guidance with factual explanations (tarot and spirituality). My writing style is warm, approachable, and playful at times, so it is important to me that my voice stays intact while the manuscript is polished for flow, consistency, and clarity.
At this time, I would also appreciate an editor who is willing to transcribe handwritten drafts into typed format so that I don't have to type everything up myself. This would save me time and help speed up the publishing process. If you're open to that, I am willing to adjust pay accordingly.
The main focus is copy editing to enhance the quality and organization of the manuscript. Bonus points if you also have graphic design experience and could refine my book cover mock-up (this would be negotiable).
Key Requirements:
- Perform copy editing with a focus on grammar, punctuation, and readability.
- Ensure consistency and tone throughout the book (conversational and factual balance).
- Improve clarity and conciseness of the content while preserving my voice.
- Must be able to read cursive.
- Respect for personal notes, bullet points, and playful side comments (don't "sterilize" the writing).
- Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

- Experience in editing non-fiction or spiritual/self-help books.
- Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Ability to maintain author's voice while enhancing flow.
