Emotive Memoir Cover Design

Job ID: 40245794

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

I need a thoughtfully crafted book cover that immediately signals a childhood memoir of living with my famous political father in Brighton in 1953 covering a vivid and happy time amongst the storms, sunlight amid dark, and a piece woven with rich historical detail —the two strongest threads running through my memoir. I’m drawn to photograph-based artwork rather than illustration or abstract graphics; the tactile feel of an old photo, subtle film grain, warm color grading, or even a faded black-and-white treatment could all work nicely.I have good photos of both my father and myself. I hope to be able to take one of the house itself (Edwardian, detached) and super-impose small versions of the two photos of the protagonists at the front. Also add in a boy child in one of the rooms with his back to the window. The house doesn't need to be literal. It could be a pencil drawn impression in the background. The ten year-old girl who is recording the story in the Memoir has a voice which is essential quirky, slightly ironic, brave in the face of the mysteries of adult behaviour.

Front, spine, and back should share the same mood while letting the title and my name stand out. I’m open to different photographic subjects—perhaps a candid portrait, a meaningful landscape, or another image that hints at life’s turning points—as long as the final composition feels authentic and reflective rather than over-styled.
