Cartoon Watercolor Children’s Book Illustrator
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’ve finished a picture-book manuscript for preschool and early-elementary readers and now I need it to burst with colour. The story is told through lively human characters, so I’m looking for an illustrator who can create original, cartoonish artwork rendered in a warm, expressive watercolour style.
You’ll handle everything from the first character sketches right through to a print-ready file, ensuring colours, bleeds and resolution all meet professional standards (300 dpi CMYK, trim + bleed, spine width, etc.). Two rounds of revisions per spread will keep us aligned, and once the final art is approved you’ll package a press-ready PDF plus layered source files.
Key deliverables
• Full-colour illustration for each page or spread, plus a wrap-around cover
• Print-ready PDF and separate high-resolution image files
• Character sheet for consistency across the book
I’ll provide the final manuscript, page breakdown and schedule the moment we agree to collaborate. If you have a portfolio that shows cartoonish watercolours featuring human protagonists and you’re comfortable preparing files for offset or POD services such as KDP or IngramSpark, I’d love to see your work and hear how many weeks you’ll need from brief to hand-off.
