Arabic Mythology Novel Cover
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
For my forthcoming literary-fiction novel rooted in Arabic mythology, I need a visually arresting wrap-around cover (front, spine, and back) plus a small set of interior scene illustrations.
Cover vision
The tone is sophisticated rather than overtly commercial: something that feels timeless yet fresh, honouring classical Middle-Eastern aesthetics without slipping into cliché. Instead of the usual jinn, roc, or ghoul, I’d like to spotlight a lesser-known creature from the folklore. I can share a short lore paragraph once we begin, but I’m open to your creative interpretation so long as the creature remains recognisably mythic. Typography should balance legibility with subtle ornamentation inspired by Arabic calligraphy, keeping the overall composition clean and literary rather than fantasy-pulp.
Supplementary artwork
Three key scenes require full-colour illustrations that echo the cover’s palette and style. Each piece will appear as a chapter-opening plate in the print edition and as inline images in the e-book.
Deliverables
• Print-ready cover (300 dpi, CMYK, PDF + layered PSD).
• Kindle & EPUB front cover (RGB, 2560 px on the long side).
• Three scene illustrations (300 dpi, RGB + layered source files).
Acceptance
I’ll consider the work complete when the files pass my printer’s pre-flight check and the mythical creature feels authentic to the folklore notes I’ll supply. Minor tweaks for layout or colour shifts are expected and included.
