Vibrant Illustrator for Children's Book
Budget: €750 – €1,500 EUR
I'm seeking a skilled illustrator to bring life to a children's book aimed at early readers, ages 5-8.
My book has a lot of animals in it and I'm looking for someone who can help portray the humor of the story, in the animals' eyes and facial expressions.
I'm looking for a style that is vibrant and quirky rather than cutesy, with fun little details on each page. I especially like the illustration styles in Julia Donaldson's books, illustrated by Axel Scheffler (not sure I have the spelling exactly right). I also like the style in the children's book, Manfred The Baddie.
I would ideally like someone who is also able to format the words on the pages to fit in properly with the pictures, and do both front and back covers. I require full commercial rights, including copyright in all illustrations and work provided.
The ideal applicant should have:
- Significant experience in children's book illustration.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret narratives and transform them into visually appealing, colorful illustrations.
- A deep understanding of what appeals to early readers in the age group of 5-8, as this is our target audience.
