Enhance IoT Device Firmware, Requires Expert
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
Firmware Optimization Expert Needed for IoT Tracking Device
Job Description: Freelancer for Tracking Device Firmware Optimization
Project Summary: We are seeking an experienced firmware developer to enhance the efficiency and performance of our tracking device. The ideal candidate will optimize telemetry data handling, improve remote connection and control processes, and ensure compatibility with our backend system in .NET and Java (SpringBoot).
Responsibilities:
Optimize and debug the firmware of tracking devices for efficient data transmission to the cloud platform.
Implement improvements in authentication, remote configuration, and response handling according to protocol messages (e.g., control messages 0x8105, queries 0x8104, and data reports 0x0200).
Ensure the device properly manages data packets and responds according to the JT808 protocol to maintain data integrity in all events.
Create and document integration tests to validate the device’s correct operation with the cloud platform (JSON, data decoding/packetizing).
Technical Requirements:
Experience in firmware development, preferably for tracking or IoT devices.
In-depth knowledge JT808 communication protocols.
Proficiency in C# (.NET Framework 4.5.2) and Java (SpringBoot 2.x) to interpret and apply data encoding and decoding libraries
Previous experience with telemetry data structures (e.g., GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi) and handling GSM and GNSS signals.
Ability to read and debug device protocol specifications, including identifying and managing status flags, general responses, and control messages.
Project Details: The project requires experience in handling telemetry network data flows and adjusting device encoding to ensure optimal, secure data transmission that meets established parameters for latitude, longitude, altitude, and RSSI.
