Writing Mentorship and Blog Setup -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am just stepping into the freelancing world and want someone to walk me through the essentials of succeeding as a writer. My immediate goal is to create a personal blog that delivers clear, educational content, while at the same time learning the skills and workflows professional freelance writers rely on every day.
What I need from you
• A structured mentoring plan that introduces writing fundamentals, article research, outlining, drafting, and self-editing techniques.
• Guidance on choosing and configuring a blog platform (WordPress, Ghost, or a comparable CMS) and setting up a clean, reader-friendly theme.
• Practical steps for building an editorial calendar so the blog consistently shares informative or educational posts.
• SEO basics—keyword research, on-page optimisation, and headline best practices—demonstrated within the first article we publish.
• Feedback on one to two sample pieces so I can polish tone, style, and clarity before they go live.
I prefer live screenshare or recorded walkthroughs that I can revisit, plus concise written notes or checklists for each lesson. By the end, I should have:
1. A functioning personal blog with at least one fully optimised post published.
2. A repeatable workflow for generating topics, writing, editing, and scheduling future content.
3. The confidence to pitch writing services to clients, supported by the blog as my portfolio.
If you have a background in freelance writing, blog management, and beginner-friendly coaching, let’s get started.
