help with my blog

I have already set up my blog with a host page, domain ect. I have started to play around with it but I am finding it a lot more difficult to navigate than I thought. I need help getting to grips with it to get me started initially and then I'd like to be able to update it myself going forward. I need someone to help with the lay out of the blog to make it look professional and to help me learn how to navigate wordpress so that I can make changes myself down the line. thank you
