Solana Validator Vote‑Credit Optimization (Jito v2.2.15)

1. Project Overview
We operate a Solana validator on mainnet‑beta running jito‑solana v2.2.15‑jito with a custom “vote_optimized” patch (originally for v1.18.23). After porting the patch to v2.2.15‑jito we still lose vote‑credits even when no slots are skipped. We need a Rust/Solana specialist to find and fix the cause so the validator consistently finishes within the top 30 by vote‑credits in one full epoch.

2. Target
Starting from a clean epoch under normal mainnet load, the validator must complete the epoch ranked in the top 30 by vote‑credits.
3. Scope of Work
Analyse current behaviour
• Review the ported patch and Tower/Vote modules.
• Reproduce credit loss without slot skips.
Diagnose root cause• Identify performance or logic bottlenecks.
Implement improvements
• Modify code/algorithms to eliminate credit loss.
• Maintain full consensus & TVC compatibility.
Deploy & test on mainnet
• Assist installation on my production validator.
• Monitor for one full epoch.
Documentation
• README with build/run steps and changelog.
4. Required Skills
Advanced Rust (async, concurrency, optimisation).
Hands‑on experience with Solana or similar validator internals.
Deep knowledge of Tower, vote‑credits, TVC, fork‑choice.
Profiling with perf, flamegraph, etc.
5. Environment
Mainnet‑beta production validator on high‑end bare‑metal server (SSH provided).
6. Acceptance Criteria
Top‑30 vote‑credits on https://app.vx.tools/cluster/vote-stats for one full epoch starting from a fresh epoch.
No TVC‑lag that drops the validator from consensus.
Zero missed slots during the test epoch.
Modified code passes cargo test.
7. Payment Terms
Fixed amount (negotiable), released only after all acceptance criteria are met.
Payment released within 48 h of confirmation.
No upfront or milestone payments.
8. IP & Confidentiality
Full, exclusive rights to source code and docs transfer to the client upon payment.
9. Communication
Telegram for daily text updates.
Code review via pull requests in a private GitHub repo.
