Dash Blockchain Fork by C++ Veteran

Job ID: 40570204

Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD

Project Title: Experienced Dash (C++) Developer for L1 Blockchain Hard Fork

Project Type: Fixed-price or Hourly (please indicate your preference in your proposal)

Budget: Competitive (negotiable based on experience)

Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced blockchain developer to create a new Layer-1 (L1) blockchain by hard forking the Dash Core codebase. The project’s scope is focused and well-defined, requiring expertise in C++ and the unique aspects of the Dash protocol.

Specific Requirements:

The new blockchain will be a fork of Dash with the following modifications:

1. Core Parameter Changes: Adjust the block time, block reward schedule, and total coin supply (8 billion) to specified parameters.
2. Preserve Key Features: Ensure the fork retains critical Dash features like ChainLocks, InstantSend, and the masternode/two-tier governance architecture.
3. Masternode Collateral: Set a new, specific collateral requirement for masternode operators.
4. Economic Modification: Implement a fee-smoothing or fee-burning mechanism (similar in concept to EIP-1559) to reduce mining reward volatility.
5. Stable Deployment: Generate a stable and secure genesis block, new block explorer, and initial wallet software for the new chain.

Required Technical Skills & Experience:

· Deep Proficiency in C++ (we are building on Dash Core, which is written primarily in C++14/17, with Python used for testing and build tools).
· Proven Experience: Previous experience forking or building a Dash-based coin is a strong requirement. Please provide examples of your work (e.g., GitHub repository, a specific coin or project you contributed to).
· Understanding of PoW: Solid understanding of Proof-of-Work consensus, mining, and mempool dynamics.
· Familiarity with the Dash Codebase: Knowledge of the specific Dash features mentioned above (ChainLocks, InstantSend, masternodes).

We are NOT looking for:

· Developers with only experience forking Bitcoin or Ethereum.
· Candidates who cannot demonstrate specific Dash development expertise.
· Projects that aim to launch a simple token on an existing platform.

To Apply, Please Include:

1. A brief overview of your experience with Dash forks. Please provide specific project names or GitHub links.
2. Your availability (expected start date and weekly hours).
3. Your proposed fee structure (fixed-price quote or hourly rate).
4. Any questions you have about the project scope.
