science illustrator experienced in journal cover art and polymeric Hydrogel visualization to design
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
Journal Cover Illustration Brief
I need a polished, publication-ready journal cover illustration that clearly communicates the science behind my polymer-based hydrogel study. The artwork must function as a scientific illustration—accurate, informative, and visually refined—while remaining cohesive with the journal’s established design language.
⸻
Core Focus Areas
• Molecular structure: Depict the polymer network at the nanoscale so the viewer can immediately recognize its chemical architecture and morphology.
• Mechanical properties: Convey elasticity and compressive behavior using clean visual cues such as stylized deformation, stress–strain overlays, or schematic compression effects.
• Hydration process: Integrate a concise sequence or gradient that visualizes water uptake, swelling, and hydration dynamics within the network.
⸻
Stylistic Direction
The journal maintains a modern, understated aesthetic. The design should emphasize clarity, minimalism, and scientific elegance—refined line work, subtle gradients, and limited, purposeful color accents that harmonize with the journal’s visual identity.
I already have preliminary design concepts and Blender models that can serve as reference points for developing the final composition.
⸻
Deliverables
1️⃣ Journal cover artwork — conceptual, polymer hydrogel theme
2️⃣ Main body illustration — showing the gelation mechanism
3️⃣ Graphical abstract — summarizing the study concisely for the manuscript
4️⃣ High-resolution outputs: CMYK (print) + RGB (web) versions
5️⃣ Layered source files: preferably Blender, or alternatively Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
6️⃣ Brief legend or annotated call-out sheet explaining each visual element for the editor
⸻
Project Scope & Budget
This commission covers a total of 3–4 related projects on polymer hydrogels.
Budget: ₹ 7k -10k per project (negotiable based on complexity and quality).
Timeline & Revision Loop
• First draft: within 2 weeks
• Up to two refinement rounds to ensure both scientific accuracy and stylistic alignment
****Intellectual Property & Confidentiality***
#All concepts, drafts, and final artwork produced for this project will be treated as confidential and may not be shared, displayed, or reused without my written permission.
#Full intellectual property rights (including copyright and reproduction rights) will be transferred to me upon final payment.
#A simple non-disclosure agreement (NDA) can be signed if required before sharing project materials, preliminary Blender files, or manuscript details.
