Project Description
I am looking for a 3D animator to create a simple in-place biped walk cycle animation for a video game character.
I will provide the character rig. The animation must be created using that rig.
This is a beginner/student-level academic project, so I do not need a professional studio-quality animation. I need a simple, clean, and understandable walk cycle that shows the basic animation principles and the main walk cycle poses.
Since this animation is intended for a video game, the character must walk in place / on the spot. The character should not move forward in world space. The root/global control should stay in place so the animation can be used inside a game engine.
The animation must be made manually using keyframes.
Project Requirements
1. Reference Research
Please use simple references for the walk cycle. These can be real-life walking references or basic animation walk cycle examples.
The animation should clearly include the main walk cycle poses:
-Contact pose
-Down pose
-Passing pose
-Up pose
-Contact pose
A short explanation of the references used should be included in the final document.
2. Basic Planning
The project should include a simple planning document or short notes explaining:
Number of frames used for the walk cycle.
Basic timing of the movement.
Main poses used.
General animation process.
How the animation was kept in place for game use.
This does not need to be very advanced. It only needs to be clear and understandable for a beginner/student-level project.
3. 3D Animation
The animation must:
Use the character rig provided by me.
Be a biped walk cycle.
Be made for a video game character.
Be an in-place walk cycle / walk cycle on the spot.
Keep the character from moving forward in world space.
Keep the main root/global control in place.
Be between 24 and 48 frames.
Be loopable, with no visible jump between the end and the beginning.
Be animated manually using keyframes.
Include the main walk cycle poses:
Contact
Down
Passing
Up
Contact
Show basic weight shift and body movement.
Look like beginner/intermediate student work, not a professional commercial animation.
Deliverables
The final delivery should include:
The completed project file using the provided rig:

Basic planning.
