Tattoo Artwork to 3D Sculpture

Project Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3D Sculptor / 3D Modeler to collaborate on an exciting artistic project. Our goal is to transform intricate 2D tattoo artwork into stunning 3D digital designs, specifically optimized for physical 3D printing and construction into large-scale sculptures.
The Core Project:
We aim to create unique, high-fidelity sculptures, each approximately 80 cm (around 31.5 inches) in height, directly inspired by the distinctive artwork of our tattoo artists. This project seeks to bring body art beyond the skin, into a new, tangible, and impactful sculptural dimension.
Key Responsibilities:
2D to 3D Translation: Accurately translate complex 2D tattoo designs into detailed 3D models.
High-Detail Sculpting: Ability to capture subtle artistic nuances, textures, and depth present in the original tattoo artwork.
3D Model Optimization for Printing: Crucially, prepare and optimize the 3D models for seamless 3D printing. This includes:
Ensuring manifold meshes and watertight geometry.
Considering wall thickness, support structures, and overall printability.
Exporting models in appropriate formats (e.g., STL, OBJ, 3MF) suitable for large-scale production.
Realistic Rendering (Optional but preferred): Provide high-quality photorealistic renders of the finished 3D designs to visualize the final sculpture before physical production.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in 3D Sculpting Software: Expertise with tools like ZBrush (highly preferred for organic sculpting), Blender, or Maya.
Strong Understanding of 3D Modeling Principles: Knowledge of polygon modeling, NURBS, or CAD software if applicable to the design complexity.
Proven Experience with 3D Printing Preparation: A solid portfolio demonstrating previous work optimized for 3D printing, especially for larger objects.
Artistic Eye: Ability to interpret and enhance artistic concepts from 2D to 3D while maintaining the original spirit of the artwork.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy and quality in every facet of the design.
Excellent Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively, understand feedback, and iterate on designs.
Deliverables:
High-resolution 3D models in print-ready formats (e.g., STL, OBJ, 3MF).
(If applicable) High-quality rendered images of the sculpture designs.
