3D Sculpture Modeling & Architectural Rendering

Job ID: 40099284

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Job Title

3D Modeler + Renderer Needed — Proposal-Stage Public Art Sculpture (Rhino or Blender or grasshopper)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled 3D modeler and renderer to support a proposal-phase public art project

The work involves creating a proposal-grade digital maquette of a sculptural cable knot form, based on an existing physical maquette, and placing it accurately within an architectural site context for a small set of rendered views.
This model does not need to be fabrication- or engineering-ready — it is intended to communicate form, scale, and site integration clearly for a jury submission.

Scope of Work
Modeling

Translate a physical maquette of a cable knot sculpture into a clean 3D model

Modeling should be curve-based (curves + sweeps / NURBS preferred)

Match overall proportions, density, and looping logic

Strand-level or fabrication detailing is not required

Context Integration

Place the sculpture model into an existing architectural site model
(DWG / RVT will be provided, or a simplified export)

Architecture is for context only, not detailed modification

Rendering

Produce 3–5 proposal-quality rendered views, such as:

Wide site context view(s)

Pedestrian / eye-level view(s)

One mid-range or detail-oriented view

Lighting and materials should read clearly but not imply final fabrication finish

Deliverables

Sculpture model:

Native file (Rhino .3dm or Blender)

Exported .fbx or .obj

Rendered images:

3–5 high-resolution JPG/PNG images

1–2 rounds of minor revisions included

Tools / Skills

Rhino + Grasshopper or Blender (preferred)

Experience with organic / sculptural / cable- or rope-like geometry

Ability to integrate models into architectural context

Strong rendering and visual composition skills

5-10 day turnaround
