NBA 2k26 Exporter & Blender Plugin

Job ID: 39747707

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I need a standalone file-exporter that can read NBA 2k26 assets and write clean JSON and DDS outputs, plus a Blender add-on that imports those same player models, lets me edit them, and then exports back out to JSON/DDS so the game can read the changes.

You will receive working binaries from past seasons that can be de-compiled or referenced; they prove the pipeline is possible but the code base is dated and I prefer a fresh, well-documented build. Choose the language you are most comfortable with—C++, C#, or Python are all fine for the exporter, while the Blender side obviously relies on Python.

Deliverables
• GUI or CLI exporter for Windows that points at the game’s archives and produces JSON + DDS files without corrupting textures or morph data
• Blender 3.x add-on (.py) that:
– Imports player models, skeleton, and textures
– Preserves rigging for animation previews
– Exports back to the exact JSON/DDS structure the standalone tool generates
• Source code with inline comments, build instructions, and a short README outlining future extension points
• A quick screen-share walkthrough (recorded is fine) showing the round-trip workflow on one sample player model

I have additional features in mind—roster batch export, accessory mapping, maybe a face-scan helper—and will treat those as follow-up milestones once the core pipeline is stable.
