Biometric Night Bar IoT
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a compact IoT solution that quietly keeps tabs on my guests from the moment they walk through the door until they pay their bill and leave. The core of the project is customer-centric tracking powered by biometric sensors—think fingerprint or facial recognition readers mounted at the entrance, bar counter and exit.
Here is what the system must achieve:
• Log entry and exit times automatically, timestamped to the second.
• Correlate each guest’s ID with ordering data from the POS so I can see individual and aggregate spending patterns in real time.
• Map movement inside the venue (lounge, dance floor, bar) to highlight hot spots and dwell times without storing video feeds.
I’m picturing a small edge device such as a Raspberry Pi or similar MCU handling the biometric scan, encrypting the data and pushing it to a lightweight cloud database or on-prem server. A simple web dashboard or mobile-friendly page should let me filter by date, view heat-maps, export CSV files and delete records on demand to stay privacy-compliant.
Acceptance criteria
1. Biometric capture module installed and reporting unique, anonymised IDs with ≤1 s latency.
2. REST or MQTT data flow documented and running for entry/exit, POS spend hooks and indoor location pings.
3. Dashboard reachable over the local network, featuring real-time view and historical export.
4. Installation guide that lets my staff re-flash or reset the system in under 10 minutes.
If you have existing code for biometric integration, even better—let’s adapt it quickly and keep the hardware footprint minimal.
Just in case you can finish to build this system in 3 days, I will accept the bid
