Everyday Massage Compression Sock Prototype

Job ID: 39811252

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I have an idea for a lightweight, slim-profile pair of massage compression socks designed primarily for everyday comfort but versatile enough for after sport, medical use and post-activity massage. I now need a specialist who can turn this concept into a working prototype that is ready for wear-testing and, ultimately, small-batch production.

I need the development of a complete prototype of the new compression socks, with the technology that we will discuss together. The socks should be thin, practical for everyday use, easy to wear, and lightweight. They will integrate a special technology that we will define together.

I am looking for a biomedical engineer, a sports engineer, or a mechanical engineer with experience in the field.

What I already know
• Compression level: moderate, comfortable for all-day use or strict medical grade.
• Fit: a slim silhouette that sits smoothly inside casual shoes.
• Use cases: commuting, long office hours, recovery periods, and travel.

What I need from you
- a complete prototype of the new compression socks
• Material guidance and sourcing (soft, breathable yarns that maintain consistent compression).
• Technical design: sizing chart, knit structure, and graduated compression map.
• A complete tech pack with colourways, stitching details, and labeling specs.
• One to two physical samples for initial fit and feel validation.

Nice-to-haves
If you can weave in extras such as arch support, seamless toe construction, or targeted ventilation zones without adding bulk, I’m open to recommendations.

Please outline your experience with sock knitting machines, compression grading, and prototype sampling, plus an estimated timeline for the first sample.
